Hurray it is almost complete!

Well after many months of construction, the basement is almost done. Check out some the pics on the slide show. No pics yet of the bedrooms as they are not organized and full of crap still. My office is in the process of being organized....heading to ikea for storage this weekend!!! A very warm cozy space I am sure we will make good use of.
Will update with a few more pics as they are complete. Part of it looks like a bowling alley right now, but I am sure it will fill up with furniture and toys soon. I am just enjoying no sawdust or power tools to trip over for now!

And now that I have an office and my computer back I can upload photos and will be keeping my Blog more current again.

Check out my Slide Show!

SNOW!

Yuck, thought we were lucky keeping it away for October. Well we got about a foot last night.

I guess I was just optimistic (or too lazy) to put away my patio furniture.

It is supposed to warm up by tuesday so I don't think it will last long. Then hopefully John will have time to get some winter tires on his car. He has had all seasons on but the tread is getting low. Last night he came home and parked in the driveway after work and about 10 min later our neighbor called to comment on his nice parking job. The car had slid out of the driveway into the middle of the cul de sac! He took my truck out this morning and says it is awesome in the snow.

Hope some of you are having better luck with your weather.

Halloween 2007

A few shots of Halloween this year. The girls had fun dressing up for school today, then we touched up make up after supper and headed out for some stash. Weather was great, no snow, no gloves required! We made our costumes as usual, prefer it that way as we never know what the weather will be. We can always alter for extreme weather. Store bought are a bit limited for snow pants. Jordyn was a phantom this year and Cassidy decided on a bat. We did not go to many houses but they got a huge stash anyway. Everything from Koolaid jammers, playdoh andthe usual candy.

Busy week

Another busy week has gone by. I had an awesome time at my conference in Calgary Monday and Tuesday. Anthony Robbins is so motivating. And it was kind of cool to see Sir Richard Branson as well, he has done so many amazing things in his life. We also heard the author of the "Chicken Soup" books speak....very inspirational. Plus 4 other great speakers. Lots of leadership and personal power info, just makes you feel thankfull for what we have and tells us to use it and stop complaining!

This weekend will be spent trying to clear out the basement. We are hoping to get a start on construction late next week, Yay! Not looking forward to the dust and stuff, but will be so worth it when it is done. The guy that will be doing most of it hopes to be done in 4 - 6 weeks.

Work is going great, I have 3 installers from Montreal that started working for us this week and they are AWESOME! Very fast, professional.....and don't appear to require drugs or alcohol to function. They seem to like it here and the 2 younger ones hope to move their families out in the summer. They have done about 2 weeks of installations in the past 4 days, so I am scrambling to get product and materials in so they can keep working.
Just a couple goofy shots of the girls this week. As you can see Cassidy still falls asleep very quickly once the mouth and body both stay still for a few seconds...this just doesn't happen often. And Jordyn was sitting on her head for some reason. Oh, and the girls got their first "problem" call from the school today. Apparently Jordyn kicked some boy at the bus stop (he kicked first!) and today the same boy threatened to beat up Cassidy for standing first in line for the bus....he is getting expelled from the bus for a few days because of it. And the drama begins. ( I think Daddy will have to make an appearance in uniform at the bus stop next week)

Fall Stuff

Here is what we've been up to the past few weeks. Work and school, we have all been busy. But have managed a few days out and about to get away. Had an awesome day in Jasper a few weeks ago and enjoyed one of the last hot days in the mountains. We are loving being closer to the mountains. We bought a new (used but new to us) Avalanche and plan to do lots of camping in the mountains next summer in our trailer.

We are also very excited that we no longer have a gravel driveway. We finally got concrete after having it ready for more than 6 weeks. The concrete plant had it boiler break down and there is also an extreme shortage of concrete available for the whole province....no sign of construction slowing down in Alberta.

Speaking of construction, I went out with our new tile installer this week and learned how to lay floor tile. Loved it! Anything that you can get all messy and dirty works for me. It was hilarious because all the contractors kept stopping in to "look at the tile" but we both knew they just had to actually see "girls" doing the tiling!

And look ... an actual picture of me! Jordyn took it.
